The Farruco and Galván dynasties receive The Silver Mosque Award of Tablao Flamenco Cordobes Barcelona
THE AWARD WILL BE DELIVERED BY LA CHANA, THE CEREMONY WILL TAKE PLACE ON FEBRUARY 1 AT 8:30 PM AND IT WILL BE A FUNDRAISING EVENT
An honorary award, bestowed since 1973
Tablao Flamenco Cordobes of Barcelona, maintaining its path of fidelity to the values of our culture, has paid homage, throughout its 47 years of activity, to personalities and institutions that represented and projected these values to the society, fulfilling a function of cohesion and encounter. This tribute has been made traditionally with the delivery of The Silver Mosque, an honorary award first granted in 1973. In this 6th edition, the Silver Mosque will be given to two families: Los Farruco and Los Galván, for their influence on the living aesthetics of dance in a wide spectrum that goes from the purest classicism to the most advanced avant-garde, and which will be represented in our scenario by Pastora Galván and Antonio el Farru, from January 22th to February 15th. The ceremony of delivery of the Silver Mosque will be held on February 1 at 8:30 pm in the emblematic tablao of Las Ramblas and it will be a fundraising event: its collection will go entirely to a non-profit organization and Tablao Flamenco Cordobes will contribute twice the amount collected. The godmother responsible for delivering the Mezquita will be La Chana, renowned representative of Catalan flamenco. Prominent members of both families such as Farruquito, Farru, El Carpeta, José Galván and Pastora Galván will also attend to the ceremony. Previously received the award: Pasqual Maragall, Turisme de Barcelona, Cristina Hoyos, Doctor Joaquín Barraquer, Taller de Músics, Institut del Teatre, Fosforito, La Chana and Juan de Dios Ramírez Heredia. Equally important have always been the godfathers of this act in previous editions: the dancer Pilar López, Cristina Hoyos, Joan Manuel Serrat, Pep Munné, Xavier Bru de Sala, Duquende and Àngels Torras, Director of Territorial Services to Barcelona of the Departament Of Culture.
